What a start to the WNBA season we have seen. There is an approximately 4-week break for the league with the Paris Olympics taking place. So, in the meantime, let’s go back on somethings that happened and what we have in store.
We had some surprises to start the season and then end the 1st half. To start, the Las Vegas Aces had a rough start to the season. but sit in the 5th spot in the league. A’ja Wilson is going absolutely insane this season, averaging 27.2 points and 12 rebounds per game.
Also in the West, the Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm are currently tied for the top spot. Right now, the Lynx are the 3rd seed, and the Storm are the 4th seed. Both teams are a surprise, but not as much with Seattle because they added fire power this off season.
Rookies have also taken over this league and are elevating it to a new level. Caitlin Clark has taken the league by storm this year. She had a little bit of a rough start, but once her and her teammates got comfortable together, she has completely taken off. Clark was also the first rookie to ever record a Triple Double in the league history. The Fever have won 11 games and currently hold a playoff position.
Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky has also made a splash. She set a new league record for most consecutive double doubles with 15. Reese has also help elevate her team and they have won 10 games, sitting in the last playoff spot.
The Eastern Conference is even hotter with the league’s Top 2 teams
The Sun’s Alyssa Thomas boxing out the Liberty’s Breanna Stewart.
Now I know we talked about 2 teams in the East already, but let’s go to the top, shall we? As expected, the New York Liberty are the top team in the East and the whole league for that matter.
The Liberty are the defending Eastern Conference champs and are looking to go back to the Finals. Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart continue to lead this team. Stewart is coming off an MVP season last year.
One team that is on their tails and can pose a threat are the Connecticut Sun. Led by DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas, the Sun are gritty. They’re currently 18-6 and are 2.5 games behind the Liberty for the league lead.
Let’s take a look at the full standings and get into the 2nd Half Predictions.

Storm guard Jewell Loyd drives to the net around a Lynx defender.
WNBA 2nd Half Prediction #1: Seattle Storm Win Total O26.5 Games (-132) Get 50% up to $1000 Deposit on BetOnline for this pick
For lack of better words, this team has taken the league by Storm. Seattle added some serious talent this offseason in Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins-Smith. Those 2 alongside Jewell Loyd and they’ve become dangerous.
The team is currently 17-8 this season with 15 games to play. I think they win 10 out of these last 15 games to be the top spot in the West. When looking at their schedule, Seattle has 2 games vs the Dream and 2 games vs the Mystics which are all very winnable games.
Later in the schedule, they face good teams like the Liberty and Sun. If they can grab 1 win vs those 2 teams over 4 games, then we’re halfway there. We’re going to pay the juice man a little, but this should be an easy cash.
The Connecticut Sun starters coming out of a huddle.
WNBA 2nd Half Prediction #2: Connecticut Sun to Win the Title (+800) Get 50% up to $750 Deposit on BETUS for this pick
You know I had to give a Finals Future, right? I’m taking the Connecticut Sun priced at +800, which is insane to me. The Aces and Liberty lead the way priced at +155 and the Sun are technically better than the Aces!
This is extremely good value on a team who is 2nd in the league. They’re only 2.5 games back from the top spot. Now, maybe the sportsbooks think they can’t hack it, but I think they can.
Connecticut comes into the playoffs with a little chip on their shoulders, losing to the Liberty in the Conference Finals last year. Alyssa Thomas, I don’t believe has even hit her peak performance so far. She has way more to give and it’s just a matter of time until she gets hot.
