Despite a loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Friday, the Connecticut Sun continue to hold the WNBA’s best record. Will that remain the case after today’s road matchup with the Seattle Storm (3:00 pm ET, ESPN3)?
On Friday night at Michelob Ultra Arena, leading scorers DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas were held to a combined 12 points as the Aces held serve at home with an 85-74 victory.
Still, the Sun (13-2) are percentage points ahead of the New York Liberty (14-3) for top spot in the WNBA standings, with the Minnesota Lynx (13-3) a half game behind both teams.
This afternoon presents another challenge for Connecticut, as they take on a Storm (9-6) squad that enters with consecutive road losses but is 4-1 at home this season.
Who will come out on top in the clash of WNBA championship contenders at Climate Pledge Arena? The Storm are favored by a small margin, but the Sun have lost consecutive regular season games only four times in the last three-plus seasons.

Connecticut Sun vs Seattle Storm Betting Analysis
After winning six straight games, the Storm have hit a little blip, losing three of their last five games. That includes road losses to the Mercury and Aces in their last two games. On Wednesday, they went down 94-83 to the Aces, who scored more points than anyone has against the Storm in regulation this season.
While Seattle is 5-5 on the road this season, things have been different at home, where their lone loss to date came in their season opener against the Lynx, which looks like a much better loss than it did initially.
That said, the Storm have yet to play another contender at home, and their only win in six games against the Aces, Liberty, Lynx, and Sun is a 78-65 win in Las Vegas on June 7.
Similarly, the Sun haven’t faced too many road tests against the best of the best. And in the lone one they did have they fell flat against the Aces on Friday. They’re certainly not the first good team that the Aces have dusted and won’t be the last, but it is worth noting, nonetheless.
It is also worth noting that the Sun rarely lose consecutive games in the regular season, as mentioned above. Since the start of the 2021 season, the Sun are 25-6 (.806) in games following a regular season loss.
That is a pretty darn formidable mark, and it is one that tips the scales for me in favor of Connecticut.
