The race for the NL Central is going bananas right now, the Dodgers hold a 4/4.5 game lead on the Padres and Diamondbacks respectively and it looked like the Dodgers were maybe slipping. Since then, they’ve won 6 of their last 8 games, including 4 straight at home.
The Dodgers are averaging 6 runs per contest in these 4 games and with Mookie back in the lineup, it’s all gas no brakes for the Los Angeles. Tonight we’ll see Clayton Kershaw make just his sixth start of the season, and just his 3 start at Dodger Stadium.
Kershaw’s got a 2.63 ERA through 5 starts, he’s given up 7 total earned runs and just 1 home run. He’s averaging just under 4 strikeouts per game but he’s also played 6 or more innings just once.
The Rays have been bad this year, they traded away any and all assets and now they’re just biding time till the season finishes. Taj Bradley’s been decent this season for the Rays. Posting a 3.55 ERA and allowing just 15 home runs across 18 starts.
