Both clubs desperately need a victory tonight to enhance their chances of reaching the postseason. The Orioles are trailing the New York Yankees by three games for the lead in the AL East going into this evening’s game, while the Blue Jays are 4.5 games behind the final wild-card spot in the American League.
Throughout the 2024 season, the Orioles have consistently proven themselves to be a strong team in the AL league. Their recent performance, winning 8 of their last 10 games with an average lead of 2.2 runs, further confirms this. Not to forget, they are currently enjoying a four-game winning streak away from home.
The Blue Jays initially disappointed at the start of the season, but they’ve gradually started to improve with a respectable 9-5 straight-up record in their last 14 games. However, it should be noted that all of these victories were against teams that had a losing record as of Monday.
So far this season, in divisional matchups, the O’s have a record of 11-4 straight up (SU) against the AL East, while the Blue Jays’ record stands at 7-8 SU.
The Blue Jays haven’t had much luck against the AL East during the 2024 MLB season.

Moreover, the former 2018 first-round draft pick has consistently achieved seven or more strikeouts in his last three games, averaging 8.0 strikeouts per game. Additionally, in his first four road games, the Over has won 3-1.
Despite the Blue Jays not having many strikeouts in 2024, two of their last three games ended with more than 11 strikeouts. If Rodriguez can gain momentum early, fulfilling this bet should not pose a problem.
