In Game 3, the Stars secured a 5-3 victory over the Oilers after a hard battle, giving them a 2-1 lead in the series. Despite Edmonton’s initial 2-0 lead following the first period, they were unable to sustain it as Dallas made a comeback. This was spearheaded by Jason Robertson’s unprecedented postseason hat trick.
Will Edmonton recover from its recent loss with a victory? Or will Dallas move one step closer to appearing in the Stanley Cup Final?

Stars vs Oilers NHL Game 4 Predictions & Pick (5/29)
The Oilers, after starting the Western Conference Finals victorious, are now at risk of trailing 3-1 tonight. They can’t afford to return to Dallas being two games behind, which implies that they are required to beat the Stars tonight to keep their hopes alive.
The Oilers need to ensure they play the entire 60 minutes. Kris Knoblauch’s team, in Game 3, for the second time squandered a two-goal lead in this series, having already done so in Game 1, although they managed to recover with an overtime win. They simply cannot risk easing up, as a strong team like the Stars will force them to compete.
That being said, it’s crucial to note that Dallas has outscored Edmonton 9-4 in the second and third periods of this series.
The Oilers’ inconsistent goaltending is not helping their situation. Stuart Skinner, after successfully stopping 31 out of 33 shots (93.9%) in the series opener, gave up six goals on 45 shots in the following two games. He even ended Game 3 with a save percentage of .810.
Oilers G Stuart Skinner struggled in Games 2 and 3. Will he be in top form tonight?
Jake Oettinger has been delivering outstanding performances for the Stars. At 25 years old, the goaltender has achieved a 2.09 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage in three games, ensuring a .900 save percentage or higher in each match.
What’s even more impressive is that Oettinger has only experienced one loss in his last 13 road starts, boasting a 1.89 GAA, .930 SV%, and a shutout in the process.
The Stars are difficult to doubt considering their remarkable depth. Each of Dallas’ four lines can produce offenses, in contrast to Edmonton who has not seen any output beyond their first line in this series. If the line of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Connor McDavid, and Zach Hyman is not performing, there is no one to pick up the slack.
With that in mind, I see the Stars taking a 3-1 series lead tonight. They’ve been the better team throughout the series and their lineup depth is undeniable. Throw in the fact that Dallas is also receiving great play between the pipes and it’s easy to see why the visiting team could win.
I’ll also take a Stars outright upset. They just beat the Oilers by two goals on the road, which includes outscoring them 5-1 in the final two frames. If there’s a team that can win in enemy territory, it’s the Stars.

Benn has now found his rhythm after an inconsistent beginning to the 2023-24 NHL playoffs. The ex-Art Ross Trophy recipient has accumulated three goals and seven assists, totaling 10 points in his recent nine matches. He has managed to score at least one point in six of these games. Currently, he enters tonight’s match on a four-game point streak.
In addition, the Over has a 7-2 record in his previous nine encounters with the Oilers, during which he accumulated 11 points. Leaders such as Benn understand the importance of stepping up when it’s most crucial, so anticipate him leading by example in tonight’s game.
