Daniel Collins’ Week 3 NFL Best Bet

Alvin Kamara looks to build on his excellent start to the 2024 season

Best Bet: Alvin Kamara o65.5 Rushing Yards Prop (+100) BetOnline

Welcome to week 3! The NFL Season is already flying and we have yet another week of awesome matchups. I have been targeting alot of running backs to start the season, and it has been paying off. Here is part of the reason why…

League-wide, through 2 weeks…

69 Pass TD (fewest since 2006)

7.1 avg tgt depth (lowest on record)

41% designed run plays (highest since 2008)

30 second TOP/play (slowest since 2008)

545 blitzes (fewest on record)

46% 2-high safety % (highest on record)

This is a longer discussion about the entire NFL and the shift that is occurring infront of our very eyes but to get to the point…NFL offenses are running the damn ball!

Defensive rosters are constructed nowadays to stop high flying passing games, with lots of nickel and dime packages. in the trenches, Defensive linemen (edge rushers especially) are tasked with rushing the passer as a higher priority than setting the edge and stopping the run.

This defensive philosophy is leaving massive gaps in the run game and offenses are taking advantage of it. As bettors, let’s do the same.

One of the better backs in the NFL to start the season has been Alvin Kamara, who is 6th in the NFL with 198 rush yards through 2 weeks.

Kamara has been averaging 5.7 yards per carry as well, showing that not only has he been getting big chunks, he has been efficient with his opportunities.

That efficiency and overall success should continue this week against the Philadelphia Eagles, who have been getting pounded on the ground so far this season.

The Eagles are allowing the 29th most rush yards to running backs this season, at 140 ground yards per game to the position. Josh Jacobs & the Packers racked up 163 yards on the ground in the season opener. Then, Bijan Robinson & company gashed the Eagles for 152 yards on Monday Night football.

I expect the Saints to attack the Eagles on the ground with Kamara, which should lead to another big day on the ground for 41.

Nate Hornung’s NFL Week 3 Best Bet

Nick Bolton has 14 tackles and 1 for a loss this season

Best Bet: Chiefs/Falcons Under 46.5 (-110) BetOnline

The Chiefs and Falcons meet on Sunday Night Football and we are backing a Primetime Under. Kirk Cousins and the Falcons offense finally started looking like we all expected on Monday, but with a short week against a young, hungry KC defense, I see them pounding the ground and milking the clock. Feeding Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier will keep the most dangerous man in the league on the sidelines where he can’t hurt you.

As for the Chiefs offense, we know they will score, but they are only scoring TDs on 40% of their trips to the red zone, and on the road that number could certainly drop. With the Falcons only allowing 2 red zone trips at home so far this season, and allowing TDs on less than 29% of those trips, I think Harrison Butker could earn his paycheck this week. Give me two underrated defenses to come alive on national television, and take a peek at my full article for a player prop in this matchup!

Colby Marchio’s NFL Week 3 Best Bet

Steelers defense looks to continue their dominance

Best Bet: Chargers Team Total Prop Under 17.5 via BetOnline

The Los Angeles Chargers have started their season playing the Raiders defense, that has allowed 22+ points in back to back weeks. Then this past week against the Carolina Panthers, which is basically like playing against your local Pop Warner team. Carolina has allowed 73 points in their first two games. That is 36.5 a game. Now the Chargers have to head into Pittsburgh and take on one of the league’s best defenses.

Best defenses in EPA allowed per dropback:
1. Chargers
2. Steelers
3. Saints

Best defenses in EPA allowed per rush:
1. Chargers
2. Saints
3. Steelers

— Ian Hartitz (@Ihartitz) September 17, 2024

The Steelers’ defense has been stellar, allowing just one touchdown in two weeks. They also only giving up two field goals to the Broncos in their 13-6 win in week 2. They’ve restricted their opponents to under 300 total yards, under 90 rushing yards, and under 250 passing yards in consecutive games.

Varun Sharma’s NFL Week 3 Best Bet

Caleb Williams ran for 44 yards last week against the Texans.

Best Bet: Caleb Williams o21.5 Rush Yards Prop (-116) via BetOnline

Chicago’s been patiently waiting for an elite quarterback for years, and well I do believe that will be Caleb Williams, a lot of people are ready to give up. Imagine that, two career starts, you go 1-1 and people have already called ya a bust.

If you watch these games you’d see it’s more than just Williams not playing well. The Bears have allowed a league worst 9 sacks, Williams has been knocked down an additional 6 times, and he’s being blitzed had the third highest rate in the NFL. It’s only Week 3

Williams also ranks in the bottom 10 in time in the pocket, averaging just 2.2 seconds per drop back. The Bears offensive line is undersized and at times, it seems like they’re lost.

Last week we saw Williams and his ability to run the ball on full display. He recorded 5 rushing attempts for 44 yards against the Texans, and even recorded 5 rushing attempts in Week 1 against the Titans.

This week he’s up against the worst run defense in the NFL. The Colts are allowing 237 rushing yards per game, through 2 weeks; but have yet to face off with a real dual threat quarterback.

Last week, against Green Bay, the Colts gave up 261 yards on the ground; surrendering 41 yards to Packers’ starter Malik Willis. This week against the Colts, the Bears’ should have their hands full with a defense that recorded 4 sacks in their home opener against the Texans.

Look for Caleb to make a few plays with his feet and put the Bears’ in the best possible position to win this game.

Brad Blakemore’s NFL Week 3 Best Bet

De’Von Achance could be the go to guy once again!

Best Bet: De’Von Achane o28.5 receiving Yards Prop (-115) via BetOnline

This little guy was the focal point of the offense in the Dolphins tough matchup against the Buffalo Bills. A game that had many implications to the team outside of just the loss. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the game with yet another head injury and is expected to miss some time. That means backup Skylar Thompson will start for Miami.

This week they will battle the Seattle Seahawks on the road. And the little guy Achane may once again be the Dolphins go-to. Quick outlet passes to get the ball out of Skylar’s hands quick could be the name of the game. The Dolphins will want to let Skylar feel things out but may want to limit deep throws to Tyreek Hill. That means Achane could be the safety blanket, and he has already crushed this line in both games this season.

Achance had 76 and 69 receiving yards in his two games this season. It seems like this line is set too low because of the question marks at quaterback. But Achane has yet another repeat performance you may never see his receiving line below 30 again. I’m willing to jump on this before it spikes and take the gamble that once again the ball will flow through Achane.
