New York Rangers vs Florida Panthers, Game 6 Best Bets: Can Cats Advance Tonight?

The Florida Panthers, hosting the New York Rangers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, have a chance to secure their spot in the Stanley Cup Finals for the second consecutive year with a win tonight. The Panthers, after initially trailing 2-1, managed to tie the series by securing a victory in overtime during Game 4 at their home ground.

Florida managed to shoot the puck 37 times at the net during Game 5 at Madison Square Garden, culminating in a 3-2 win, leaving the Rangers facing elimination. The Panthers were initially down by 1-0 after a scoreless 1st and two minutes into the 2nd, but managed to level the score before the period ended. The score remained 1-1 until midway through the 3rd when Anton Lundell scored a decisive goal for the Panthers. Sam Bennett then scored an empty net goal with less than two minutes remaining. Despite the Rangers scoring another goal, they still ended up losing the game.

Will they be able to come back and secure a win to push the series into Game 7? Or is Florida going to move forward for a shot at redemption in the Stanley Cup Finals?

Can the Rangers Rally on the Road?

In this NHL Playoffs, Trocheck is the leading point scorer for the Rangers.

The Rangers are in a tight spot, their season hanging by a thread. If they lose tonight, all their efforts could essentially be in vain. The Stanley Cup was a dream they nurtured all season, a dream that could be shattered in a mere 60 minutes tonight.

The Rangers ought to show exceptional performance. However, this could pose a challenge for them.

In this series, New York has only managed to launch 30 Shots On Goal (SOGs) once, during their Game 2 overtime win. They’ve also only managed to gather 23 shots in both of their games in Florida during this series. This level of performance isn’t going to cut it, considering Sergei Bobrovsky’s current form. He has blocked over 90% of the shots taken this postseason, aided significantly by his defense.

During this NHL playoffs, the Panthers have conceded a mere 24.4 shots on goal per game, reducing the pressure for Bobrovsky at the goalpost. On the attack, they’ve been applying extreme pressure on the opposition, firing an average of 33.2 shots per game, thereby testing the opposing team’s goalie. In my opinion, both teams will likely increase their intensity in the upcoming game. This is because the Panthers traditionally favor a fast-paced game, and the Rangers have everything at stake.

I believe tonight’s game is incredibly rapid, filled with a lot of action leading to numerous shots on goal. Even though the Rangers are only managing 26 shots on goal per game, they are conceding nearly 33 per game. Therefore, I anticipate both goalkeepers will see a lot of action tonight.

New York Rangers vs Florida Panthers Best Bets

Can Igor Shesterkin perform exceptionally well and assist the Rangers in pushing for Game 7?

Best Bet: Igor Shesterkin over 29.5 Saves (-126) BetOnline

Am I convinced that the Rangers will secure a victory tonight? Not really. I’m actually more inclined towards Florida, but I do believe Shesterkin will have a busy night. He’s been saving almost 93% of the shots he’s faced in these playoffs, and he’s had no shortage of opportunities due to the Rangers’ defensive deficiencies. As I previously mentioned, the Rangers’ entire 2024 season hangs in the balance, so they must accelerate their game pace and leave no stone unturned to create scoring opportunities.

The Panthers adore that precise style of play, particularly when they’re playing at home, so I anticipate they’ll maintain the tempo. This will likely lead to a multitude of shot opportunities for both teams. I predict that Igor will concede at least a few, but I’m expecting over 35 shots from Florida, something they’ve achieved in 5 out of 8 home playoff games this year. They’re currently averaging 35.25 shots on goal per game at home this postseason, including games with 37 and 40 shots against the Rangers in this series. I foresee the Panthers bombarding the net, and Igor making enough saves to secure our bet.
