The Mariners currently lead the AL West.
Both the Mariners and Angels may play in the same division, but that’s pretty much where the similarities between these two teams stop. The Mariners currently lead their division and the Angels would be last had the Athletics not been in the same division.
Seattle holds a slim lead on Astros but AL West has been full of teams playing way under their potential. The Rangers and the Astros have looked less than stellar this season but with everyone playing poorly, this division is still wide open.
The Mariners are going with starter, Logan Gilbert to face off with Roansy Contreras of the Angels.
Gilbert’s posted a sub 3 ERA this season despite the 6-5 record, but with the Mariners finally getting it together offensively, he should be in store for a few more in the win column.
For the Angels, Contreras has served as more of a initial pitcher when they’re going with their bullpen. They’ve got an opener out there but Roansy will come in for about 3 innings of work.
