Fever vs Storm Prediction & Picks (6/27): Can Improving Indiana Impress in Seattle Again?

The Seattle Storm kicked off their nine-game homestand with a victory and will aim for back-to-back wins tonight. They are set to host Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in the late game of tonight’s WNBA schedule at 10:00 pm ET, streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The Storm (10-6) began their extended home series on Sunday with a 72-61 win over the Connecticut Sun. In this win, Seattle conceded the lowest number of points for the season and restricted the Sun to a shooting efficiency of just 14.3% from the three-point line and 37.3% overall from the field.

Tonight, they are set to compete against the Fever (7-11) for the third time this season. The first match in Seattle on May 22 was a tight game, with Indiana losing by a narrow margin in an 85-83 victory for the Storm. The second match in Indianapolis, which took place eight days later, was not as close. Seattle led by as much as 27 points and scored a season high in a 103-88 win.

After falling to a 1-8 record with that defeat, the Fever have significantly improved, securing victories in six out of the last nine games. Can they manage to stay competitive in their second game of the season at Climate Pledge Arena?

Indiana Fever vs Seattle Storm Betting Analysis

In their last game, the Fever narrowly missed their fifth consecutive victory, losing 88-87 to the Chicago Sky. This was the third season game that showcased players such as Clark, Angel Reese, and the South Carolina pair, Aliyah Boston and Kamilla Cardoso.

Indiana really missed an opportunity here, having a lead of 15 points in the third quarter and 12 in the fourth. The Fever were leading 82-70 with 6:38 left on the clock, but the Sky managed to outscore them 18-5 for the rest of the match to secure a win at Wintrust Arena.

Even though the Fever didn’t win a game they were expected to, they maintained their recent scoring streak. In each of their previous five games, they’ve scored at least 87 points, averaging 89.6 points per game in that period. The scoring hasn’t been dominated by a single player; four different players, namely Clark, Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, and NaLyssa Smith, have led the team in scoring in those games.

Is it possible for that scoring streak to persist tonight? Seattle has been conceding an average of 72.8 points per game at home, however, the Fever has already demonstrated their scoring capabilities against the Storm on two occasions.

Sadly, repeating their previous performance probably won’t be sufficient to defy the odds. The Storm has an impressive 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS record this season when they score 80 or more points in a regular game. Their only losses were to the Las Vegas Aces last week and they failed to cover only in the loss to the Aces and the first victory over the Fever. Furthermore, since starting the season with back-to-back losses to the Minnesota Lynx, Seattle boasts a 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS record as the favored team. This includes an unbeaten 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS record when playing at home.

Indiana Fever vs Seattle Storm Prediction & Picks

Prediction for Fever vs Storm: Storm to win

Picks for Fever vs Storm: 1) Storm -9, 2) Jewell Loyd over 20.5 points (+100 at Bovada), 3) Kelsey Mitchell over 16.5 points (-115 at Bovada), 4) NaLyssa Smith over 12.5 points (-120 at Bovada)

I’m going to invest heavily in props tonight as there are numerous excellent choices available.

Loyd’s shooting percentages remain worrisome, however, her performance in the last two games against the Fever was commendable. She managed to score a season-high 32 points in the first game, with 12 out of 24 field shots. In the following game, she managed 8 out of 14 field shots, contributing to a 22-point effort.

Mitchell is currently performing well, averaging 21.0 points per game over her last five games. She has scored 20 points in three games and has never scored less than 17 points in any game.

Meanwhile, Smith has performed well in two games against the Storm this season. In the first encounter, she scored 16 points and made 11 rebounds, her highest for the season. In the second game, she scored her season’s highest of 23 points and made 10 rebounds.
