We have just one spot in the EURO Title match left, and we’ve got two squads battling it out today. The Netherlands take on England in the 2nd EURO 2024 Semifinal, with a chance to face Spain in the Title Match. While the Dutch have looked a lot better in my opinion, England has plenty of motivation on their side, and they have found ways to get the job done.
England won their Group with just 5 points, and it was rather disappointing to watch them to be honest. Despite playing Serbia, Slovenia, and Denmark, the English managed just one win in their three group stage matches. They went on to miraculously survive in the Round of 16 against Slovakia, tying the game on the final kick and winning it in extra time. In the Quarterfinals, England was down 1-0 to the Swiss after an intense 75 minute battle. England rallied and equalized shortly after, eventually moving on in Penalty Kicks. And now here they are, in the EURO Semifinals for the 2nd straight tournament.
The Dutch finished 3rd in their group, but looked solid against the likes of Poland and France. Despite suffering a loss to Group Winner, Austria, the Dutch handled business against Romania in the Round of 16, and again against Turkey in the Quarterfinals. The Netherlands have had no trouble scoring, netting 7 in their L3 matches, and scoring 9 total in their EURO campaign. This team is incredibly sound, and I have had my eye on them from the start of the tournament.

Will Dutch Take Down Three Lions?
Virgil Van Dijk and the Dutch take on England in the EURO Semifinals
Now, at the beginning of the tournament, I had my eye on three teams. Spain (who is in the final), as well as England and the Netherlands. We will have a EURO Title Match featuring two of our three tournament futures, and I have to lean slightly with the Dutch.
A very wise man compared England to last year’s Kansas City Chiefs. They haven’t looked great, they haven’t been playing their best soccer, but they are simple finding ways to win. And in bracket play, that is all that matters. Winning and moving on. But personally, I believe England has finally met their match. While they had the biggest motivation going into the tournament, having finished as the Runner Ups in 2020, they have not been impressive. They will need to sincerely step up their game in order to stop the Dutch and get by them, which I simply don’t see happening.
The Dutch have netted 7 goals in their L3 matches, they’ve only allowed 5 all tournament, and I simply don’t think the English have the offense to break through the Netherlands back line. Virgil Van Dijk and Stefan de Vrij patrol the Dutch defense, and I see them having no issues stopping the England attackers. Since the start of the tournament, Spain has been my champion, and the Dutch have been my dark horse. From the start of bracket play, I have predicted a Spain vs Netherlands Title, and I will be betting on that happening today.

We are betting this game much like we did Spain vs France. I have the Netherlands Draw No Bet at (+108) and I will also be backing them to Advance or Qualify at (+113). Half unit sprinkles on each, I am willing to lose 1 unit if the English pull this off, but I don’t think they will.
Much like Spain vs France, we backed a team that had proven they could score goals and done a solid job of hindering their opponent from doing the same. We also faded a team that had sincerely struggled to put the ball in the back of the net, and produce any sort of offense. England has only scored twice once this tournament, it took nearly 120 minutes to do so, and they were just a few more kicks from not having the opportunity. I see the Dutch scoring today, therefore, England will need to net at least one or two to keep up, and I simply don’t think they have it in them.
Give me the Dutch to advance and win this game in 90 minutes, sealing their date with Spain in the EURO 2024 Title Match.
