If France or Belgium triumph, they are likely to face Portugal, the 6th ranked team, in the Quarterfinals, provided they overcome Slovenia. Slovenia is making their first appearance in the EURO Round of 16 and their first participation in the EURO since 2000.

We look above to see Spain taking on Georgia, who astonishingly defeated Portugal to move into the knockout round. Additionally, we have Germany going head-to-head with Denmark, a match that will undoubtedly challenge the 16th ranked hosts as they face the 21st ranked Danes. Ultimately, the left side of the bracket is dominated by 4 teams in the Top 10 and 6 in the Top 20 worldwide.

The “Easy” Side

Switching to the other perspective, Romania emerged as their group’s victor. What’s in store for the team ranked 47th? A match with the 7th ranked Dutch team, who are confident about their easy progression into the Semifinals. I am strongly in favor of the Dutch in this match, and I would also support them in a potential rematch against Austria, given that the Group Winner can overcome Turkey.

Finally, we have England, who will be facing Slovakia, the 45th ranked team that secured their position as the 3rd seed in their group, all of whom ended with 4 points. If England navigates this match without any hiccups, they will compete with the victor of the Switzerland vs Italy game. The opening match of the EURO Round of 16 is something I am greatly looking forward to, particularly as the 19th ranked Swiss team is keen to challenge the 10th ranked reigning EURO Champions, Italy.

You guys can check me here if you want, but in my EURO 2024 Preview, I said there were three teams I liked are early future winners.

• Spain (+800) now (+450)
• Netherlands (+1800) now (+1200)

I maintain my earlier predictions, believing that Spain will clinically beat the Netherlands 2-1 in 90 minutes and clinch the cup.

Here’s a general overview of how I predict the bracket will unfold, based on numerous assumptions.

EURO 2024 Bracket Predictions

I envision Spain and Germany managing their affairs proficiently, albeit not without a formidable challenge from Denmark, with Spain eventually triumphing over the hosts and advancing to the Semifinals. Regarding the lower section of the left bracket, I predict a comfortable advancement for the Portuguese, while the outcome between France and Belgium remains uncertain. I’m inclined to favor France slightly due to the difficulties Belgium encountered during the Group Stage. I believe Portugal, with Ronaldo leading the charge, will outshine Kylian Mbappe and set up a semifinal showdown with Spain, where I have confidence in the Spaniards’ ability to secure victory.

Regarding the “less challenging” side of the bracket, I predict the quarterfinals to be a match between the Netherlands and Austria, with the Dutch triumphing out of vengeance. I foresee England defeating Slovakia, but succumbing to either Switzerland or Italy in the quarterfinals. England’s performance has been unimpressive, their manager is inconsistent, and I believe both the Swiss and Italians are demonstrating superior soccer skills. This year, the trophy isn’t returning home.

I’m inclined to favor the Swiss slightly over Italy, given their more impressive performance during the Group Stage. Nevertheless, I predict either the Swiss or Italy will triumph over England, only to subsequently be defeated by the Dutch in the Semifinals. The Netherlands have emerged from a highly challenging group, and are now poised and prepared for a run in the EURO. I believe their strong defensive line will carry them a long way in this tournament.

As I’ve previously stated, I’ve supported Spain from the start and they seem to be the strongest team in the EURO currently. So, there’s no reason to stop supporting them now.
