We are onto Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals, as the Florida Panthers were able to secure the shutout victory in Game 1 against the Oilers. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped all 32 Edmonton Oilers shots that night on his way to a 3-0 victory, one step closer to hoisting the Stanley Cup. The Panthers only ended 18 shots to slip 2 past Stuart Skinner, which ended up being enough to secure the win.
Connor McDavid ripped 6 shots on goal in his first Stanley Cup Finals game but none were able to go by Bobrovsky. Will we see something different in Game 2 tonight? Or can the Ice Cats take a commanding 2-0 series lead at home?

Can Panthers Turn Up the Heat on the Oilers?
Sergei Bobrovsky has stopped 96 of 100 shots faced against the Oilers this season
The Panthers looked absolutely dominant in Game 1. They did what they had to do to win, blocking 21 shots to make Bobrovsky’s life easier, as well as only allowed 3 Power Play opportunities. The home town Panthers were the more focused, more physical team in Game 1, and it clearly showed on the stat sheet and the outcome of the game.
McDavid had 8 total attempts for the Oilers, while Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman only accounted for 5 each. Defenseman Ekholm actually led the Oilers in total attempts with 9, although only 2 found their way on the net. Plain and simple, the Oilers are going to have to rely on their stars. Edmonton is simply not as deep as the Panthers are, therefore, they will need McDavid, Draisaitl and Hyman to carry the offensive workload.
The Oilers were able to create plenty of chances in Game 1, and eventually they should be able to sneak a few by Bobrovsky. Edmonton should come out even more fired up than last time, and be looking for their studs to pepper the net even more than before. The Oilers should really turn to their stars in this spot, so of course I expect them to give this guy plenty of opportunities.
Edmonton Oilers vs Florida Panthers Best Bets
McDavid should be locked in down in Florida tonight
Best Bet: Connor McDavid Over 3.5 SOGs (-104) BetOnline
Big time players make big time plays in big time games and Connor McDavid is a big time player in a big time game tonight, so he should absolutely pepper the net. He had 6 last game on 8 total attempts, and now has 14 total SOGs on 24 total attempts in 3 games against the Florida Panthers this season. Recently, he’s cleared this line in 10/19 games this playoffs, including 4 of his L5, posting 5+ SOGs in all 4 of those games.
McDavid has 7 games with 7+ total attempts this postseason, and 6 others with 6 attempts as well. Even though tons of focus will be on McJesus tonight, he will do whatever it takes to lead his team to a victory to even this series. Give me McDavid to absolutely let it fly tonight on the road.
