On the defensive end, they limited the Liberty to a field goal percentage of 43.5%. Furthermore, by restricting New York to a mere 11 points in the second quarter, Chicago secured a crucial eight-point lead at halftime.
Having impressed with road victories against two of the stronger WNBA teams, the Sky should be optimistic about securing a win in their home opener tonight.
The effort they’ve put in up to this point has many admirable aspects. Their defensive play has been praiseworthy, with offensive support coming from a variety of players. In all three games, a minimum of five players from the Sky have scored double-digit points.
The Sun is a contender for the championship, and there is barely, if at all, a gap between them, the Liberty, and the Las Vegas Aces who are without Chelsea Gray.
However, victory is infectious, and after securing consecutive wins against the Wings and Liberty, I favor the Sky to maintain their momentum in this situation.
