Bears vs. Colts Analysis & Breakdown
The Bears are 1-1 to start the year, but it feels like people are already panicking.
This game feels like a battle of two win-less teams, but the Chicago Bears are 1-1; it just feels like they’re 0-2. The Bears’ offense has been non-existent through two weeks.
Chicago’s offense has just 1 offensive touchdown on the year, a 4-yard run by backup running back, Khalil Herbert. When they beat the Titans in Week1, Chicago 19 unanswered points in the 2H, including two touchdowns from the defense/special teams.
Caleb Williams has yet to throw his first passing touchdown in the NFL and we’re in Week 3 of his rookie campaign. Williams is tied with Gardner Minshew for most sacks taken by a quarterback this year; both guys have been sacked 9 times through two contests.
On the other side of the ball, Anthony Richardson and the Colts are still in search of their first win of the year. They’ve got their backs against the wall and going 0-3 could be disastrous for their season; so look for the Colts to come out swinging in this one.

The Bears are 1-1 on the year and the chatter surrounding this team has been incredibly loud. Caleb Williams was bound to draw attention anywhere he went, but there’s something about being the Bears’ saviour that makes this job so much harder.
Chicago’s been patiently waiting for an elite quarterback for years, and well I do believe that will be Caleb Williams, a lot of people are ready to give up. Imagine that, two career starts, you go 1-1 and people have already called ya a bust.
If you watch these games you’d see it’s more than just Williams not playing well. The Bears have allowed a league worst 9 sacks, Williams has been knocked down an additional 6 times, and he’s being blitzed had the third highest rate in the NFL. It’s only Week 3…
Williams also ranks in the bottom 10 in time in the pocket, averaging just 2.2 seconds per drop back. The Bears offensive line is undersized and at times, it seems like they’re lost.
Last week we saw Williams and his ability to run the ball on full display. He recorded 5 rushing attempts for 44 yards against the Texans, and even recorded 5 rushing attempts in Week 1 against the Titans.
This week he’s up against the worst run defense in the NFL. The Colts are allowing 237 rushing yards per game, through 2 weeks; but have yet to face off with a real dual threat quarterback.
Last week, against Green Bay, the Colts gave up 261 yards on the ground; surrendering 41 yards to Packers’ starter Malik Willis. This week against the Colts, the Bears’ should have their hands full with a defense that recorded 4 sacks in their home opener against the Texans.
Look for Caleb to make a few plays with his feet and put the Bears’ in the best possible position to win this game.

This week they face off against another tough defense in the Chicago Bears. The Bears rank 5th in points allowed this year, allowing just 18 points per game and recording 4 turnovers through two games.
Chicago ranks 8th in yards allowed to the opposing team, and have done a great job against the run. Last week against the Texans, they held Mixon & Akers to 57 combined yards just a week after Mixon recorded 159 on his own.
If Richardson and the Colts hope to put up points in this one, he might need to slip out of the pocket once or twice and make a big play. Don’t be surprised when he rumbles in for six.
