These are the seven Americans who have been managed by Pochettino at the club level.

Mauricio Pochettino is quite different from typical U.S. men’s national team coaches, mainly because he had no ties to the country before his appointment. Throughout the 21st century, U.S. Soccer has generally favored local options. The only full-time head coach not born in America was Jurgen Klinsmann, but he was already a California resident at the time of his recruitment.

Pochettino doesn’t have any American connections. He was raised in Argentina and then moved to Europe for his playing and coaching career. This will mark his initial venture into the American sports scene.

It isn't his first interaction with American players, though. In fact, Pochettino coached a few, including two 2022 World Cup veterans. But how have American players fared under Pochettino?
