Although the Reds haven’t yet acquired any new players, they are still making good progress in preparation for the 2024-25 season.

For the first time on Tuesday morning, Arne Slot will have access to all of Liverpool’s players. Interestingly, his will be the most recognizable new face in the team that gathers at the club’s AXA Training Centre in Kirkby. This is because Liverpool is the only Premier League team that has not made a signing during the summer transfer window.

Considering that Liverpool’s campaign kicks off at Portman Road in less than two weeks, it’s no surprise that tension is escalating around Anfield at the moment. The lingering concern is that FSG’s perceived stinginess might jeopardize the Dutchman’s prospects of a triumphant inaugural season.

Restlessness hasn’t transformed into outrage yet. Jurgen Klopp, for instance, left the first-team squad robust, guiding Liverpool back into the Champions League following a successful midfield revamp last summer. Simultaneously, he won the Carabao Cup using ‘young players’.

Secondly, new sporting director Richard Hughes said as soon as he arrived on Merseyside as part of a major overhaul of the club's sporting hierarchy that he expects a relatively quiet summer to come to a "crescendo" shortly before deadline day. Liverpool, then, are still likely to make at least a couple of meaningful moves between now and the end of the month.

However, the subdued response of the supporters to the absence of transfer activity can also be significantly attributed to the Reds’ nearly flawless pre-season program under their new coach. The coach couldn’t have dreamed of a better start to his journey of transforming skeptics into believers, much like his respected predecessor.
