August 20, 2020 – The Islanders eliminate the Washington Capitals 4-1 in the best-of-seven First Round of 2020 NHL Playoffs with a 4-0 win in Game 5 at Scotiabank Arena in the Toronto bubble.

Anthony Beauvillier’s two-goal performance, both assisted by Josh Bailey, drove the Islanders to a series-clinching victory. Bailey ended the match with three points, including a goal and two assists. Nick Leddy also scored in the Islanders’ 4-0 triumph. The shutout and series clincher were secured by Semyon Varlamov, who made 21 saves.

In the series, Bailey topped the Islanders’ score chart with six points (2G, 4A), while Beauvillier and Anders Lee jointly held the highest team goal count with three each. Varlamov exhibited a strong performance with a record of 4-1, a 1.59 GAA, a .935 SV%, and a shutout.
