With WWE’s Monday Night Raw at Amerant Bank Arena this week, it was only natural to have the Florida Panthers as part of the celebration, specifically Panthers legend and Hockey Hall of Famer Roberto Luongo.

The ex-NHL goaltender who now serves in the Panthers’ front office got his name etched on the Stanley Cup for the first time following last season’s championship. He returned to the arena on Monday for the first time since the Game 7 triumph.

“Currently experiencing some pleasant feelings,” Luongo stated in an interview with Jackie Redmond. “The banners are still hanging up,” he observed.

As Luongo was discussing his forthcoming day with the Cup on Wednesday, the interview was abruptly interrupted by WWE wrestler CM Punk, who is a well-known hockey and Chicago Blackhawks fan.

Naturally, he remembered the 2011 Stanley Cup First Round where the Vancouver Canucks, Luongo’s former team, defeated the Blackhawks in a seven-game series.

“Didn’t quite vibe with the 2011 playoffs,” CM Punk humorously remarked, “We were expected to do a repeat performance, but we did alright.”

CM Punk swiftly congratulated Luongo on finally getting his name on the Cup, despite a possible slight rivalry.

“I’m absolutely delighted,” CM Punk expressed to Luongo. “It’s truly fantastic to witness deserving people receive their rewards.”

Luongo, who mentioned that he grew up as a WWE fan, watched the event from ringside and received a shoutout from the host, Pat McAfee.
