Chicago takes on the Jets in Winnipeg tonight in the first of three games between the two clubs this season. The Blackhawks earned points in two of four matchups against Winnipeg last season, going 1-2-1. Connor Bedard scored three goals in three games against the Jets during the 2023-24 campaign, including a multi-goal game on Dec. 27, 2023 where he scored his first career overtime game winner. Teuvo Teravainen has seven points (3G, 4A) over his last seven games against Winnipeg. Philipp Kurashev has recorded six points (1G, 5A) in 10 career games against Winnipeg, including two assists over his last four meetings with the Jets.

The Blackhawks dropped a 5-2 decision to the Utah Hockey Club during the team’s season opener on Tuesday evening in Salt Lake City. Connor Bedard recorded two assists. Teuvo Teravainen and Nick Foligno each scored once Seth Jones and Alex Vlasic each tallied an assist. Ryan Donato and Foligno shared the team lead with six hits each. Petr Mrazek made his first start of the season and
recorded 22 saves on 26 shots.

Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard chipped in two assists against Utah on Tuesday and became just the second teenager in Blackhawks history to collect at least one point in multiple season openers for the franchise (Olczyk, 1984-85 & 1985-86). He also became the third teenager in Blackhawks history to record multiple points in a season-opening game, joining Stan Mikita (1-1—2 on Oct. 7, 1959) and Denis Savard (0-3—3 on Oct. 9, 1980).

Chicago forward Teuvo Teravainen found the back of the net against Utah on Tuesday for his first goal as a Blackhawk since March 27, 2016. Teravainen now has goals (5G, 1A) in his last four-straight regular-season games dating back to the 2023-24 season with Carolina. Against Utah, he saw 20:34 of time on ice, the second-most among all Chicago skaters.

Against the Utah Hockey Club, Blackhawks Alex Vlasic tallied an assist and shared first among all club skaters with three blocked shots. During the 2023-24 season, Vlasic led all Chicago skaters with 148 blocked shots in 76 games.
