PREVIEW: Blackhawks Face Sharks in 2024-25 Home Opener Showdown

TONIGHT’S MATCHUP

Chicago is currently on a four-game win streak against San Jose since Feb. 25, 2023. The Blackhawks are also 13-5-2 in their last 20 games against the Sharks at the United Center since the 2011-12 season. Tyler Bertuzzi has tallied 12 points (4G, 8A) in 11 career games against San Jose. Petr Mrazek is currently riding a four-game winning streak against the Sharks, boasting a 2.41 GAA and a .930 SV% over that span. During their last meeting on March 23, the Blackhawks erased a four-goal deficit to defeat the Sharks 5-4 in overtime in San Jose. Seth Jones buried the overtime game-winning goal.

INDIANA JONES

Seth Jones notched an assist against Calgary on Tuesday and now shares first among all NHL blueliners with four assists in four games this season. He also shares second among all league defensemen with five points. He’s the first Blackhawks defenseman to have at least five points through the team’s first four games of a campaign since Chris Chelios (2G, 5A in 1993-94).

NICK KNACK

Against Calgary, forward Nick Foligno found the back of the net and now ranks second on the club with two goals in four games this season. Since the start of the 2023-24 campaign, Foligno’s 19 goals share third among all Chicago skaters. joining Connor Bedard (23), Jason Dickinson (22) and Philipp Kurashev (19). He also shared first among all team skaters with two hits against the Flames and now ranks sixth among all NHL players with 18 hits this season.

MARTY MCFLY

Blackhawks defenseman Alec Martinez recorded a helper against the Flames for his first point as a Blackhawk. He is now five assists shy of 200 for his career. He would become just the 18th skater and fifth blueliner from the 2007 NHL Draft to hit 200 career assists. He currently shares third among all NHL skaters with 15 blocked shots in four games this season.
