Isles Day to Day: Foudy Recalled

The New York Islanders recalled forward Liam Foudy on Tuesday morning, as Julien Gauthier was assigned to Bridgeport in a corresponding move after he cleared waivers Monday afternoon.

Foudy was acquired in the offseason, inking a one-year deal. The forward played three preseason games for Isles and potted a goal. Foudy skated on a line with Kyle MacLean and Oliver Wahlstrom on Tuesday morning ahead of the Islanders’ contest vs the Detroit Red Wings. Casey Cizikas moved to a line with Anders Lee and JG Pageau, while Simon Holmstrom slotted in with Mathew Barzal and Bo Horvat, to fill the absence of Anthony Duclair who is out with an injury.

Foudy is off to a solid start with Bridgeport, collecting four assists and a plus-four rating through five games. He said that having a training camp with a new organization is helpful to acclimate, which he’s hoping can translate into a strong debut for the Islanders if he’s in the lineup on Tuesday night.

Foudy, 24, has 102 games of NHL experience playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators.
