French Fries and Fry Sauce
Fry sauce, originally dubbed the “pink sauce”, first appeared in a local Utah barbecue joint during the early 40s. It was later popularized when the restaurant converted into a fast-food franchise. A combination of ketchup, mayonnaise and spices, this special sauce is simple yet indispensable.
The favorite condiment for Utahns, fry sauce accompanies all shapes of fries, from curly to shoestring, waffle to steak. Today, the sauce has gone coast to coast, taking on different variations, and adapting to different tastes and cuisines.
