Game Recap: Rockets 104, Clippers 90

LAS VEGAS — The Houston Rockets delivered a dominant offensive performance as they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers, 104-90, in Las Vegas Summer League action at Cox Pavilion on Monday.

The Clippers never led, as the Rockets hopped out to an immediate lead that expanded to 14 points within the first quarter. Led by lights-out three-point shooting, the Rockets continued to dominate on the offensive end. The Rockets led by as much as 24, knocking down 12 3-pointers on 42 percent shooting en route to the victory.

Rookie De’Anthony Melton led all scorers with 26 points. The USC product knocked down five 3-pointers and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. Vincent Edwards added an additional 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting.

For the Clippers, rookie point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a team-high 25 points. The former Kentucky standout added five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Forward Vincent Hunter shot 7-of-8 from the floor en route to 20 points for the Clippers. Ultimately, it was not enough, though, as the team shot just 39.1 percent in the loss.
