Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry will return to the lineup on Sunday against the Wizards (8:30 ET, NBA League Pass), according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

“March 1 has always been the target date,” Curry stated after Saturday’s scrimmage. “But that’s mainly to provide a goal for me. When you’re in the process of rehab, it’s crucial to have something to strive for. This serves as a gauge for what you’re working towards each week. As I’ve often stated, I haven’t experienced any hiccups along the way. This has been a lengthy and tough rehab process, something I’ve never undergone before, so it’s heartening to see positive responses to every new challenge I tackle.”
Curry, despite being thrilled about his progress, still asserts that his hand – which was broken in a collision with Suns’ center Aron Baynes on Oct. 30 – has not returned to its normal state.
“Adjusting to a new normal is something I’m getting used to,” said Curry. “There’s definitely a difference compared to my right hand, but the goal is to reach a point where I can play basketball without it preoccupying my thoughts. Regardless of whether it feels completely the same or not, it’s not really important. As long as I’m not concerned about my performance or the strength aspect of it, that’s what matters. I must also pay attention to how it responds the following day after exerting it, whether it’s in contact situations or otherwise. It’s expected to feel different.”
