Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry will return to the lineup on Sunday against the Wizards (8:30 ET, NBA League Pass), according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

“March 1 has always been the target date,” Curry stated after Saturday’s scrimmage. “The main reason for that is to provide a goal. There needs to be a goal in the rehab process that gives you a weekly progress gauge and what you’re aiming for. As I’ve consistently mentioned, I’ve not experienced any drawbacks during this process. This has been an extensive and demanding rehab process, something I’ve never encountered before, so it’s encouraging to see positive responses with every new challenge I undertake.”
Curry expresses enthusiasm about his progress, yet he indicates that his hand, which he broke on October 30 during a collision with Suns center Aron Baynes, is not yet back to its normal state.
“Adapting to this new normal is something I’m getting used to,” said Curry. “It’s certainly different from my right hand, but the goal is to reach a point where I’m playing basketball without giving it a second thought. Whether it feels completely the same or not is irrelevant. What matters is that I’m not preoccupied with what I’m trying to accomplish, particularly the strength aspect of it. I also need to monitor how it responds the day after exertion, whether from contact or otherwise… it’s bound to feel different.”
