Pacers add Cory Joseph in trade with Warriors

Cory Joseph played limited minutes over 26 games with Golden State this season.

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade guard Cory Joseph to the Indiana Pacers.

However, the Pacers then waived Joseph after the deal and signed forward James Johnson.

Pacers receive:

  • Cory Joseph
  • 2025 second-round pick (via Charlotte)
  • Cash considerations

Warriors receive:

  • 2024 second-round pick

What trade means: The 32-year-old point guard has 82 games of playoff experience in his career. The Pacers were busy before the trade deadline, adding Doug McDermott from San Antonio and trading Buddy Hield to Philadelphia. But keeping Joseph was not in the plans.

Joseph is averaging just 2.4 points and 1.6 assists over 26 games with Golden State this season. He has career averages of 6.9 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds over his 13-year career.

This would have marked Joseph’s second stint with Indiana as he played for the Pacers from 2017-19.
