Hobbled by injuries this season, Jamal Murray is averaging 21.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists.
Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray remains out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on his left knee, the team announced Wednesday.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute.
Murray was injured in the final minute of a loss to the Golden State Warriors on April 12. While driving for a layup, Murray landed awkwardly on his left foot and fell to the court. He refused a wheelchair when the injury occurred, and instead limped off the court with assistance.
According to Nuggets reporter Harrison Wind, Nuggets coach Mike Malone said Murray’s injury was a “clean tear” and that the doctor was “impressed with state of Jamal’s knee” after the swelling had gone down. Malone spoke to Murray this morning prior to the surgery.
Murray, 24, is averaging 21.2 points and 4.8 assists this season, his fifth with the Nuggets.
