Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid named Kia NBA Players of the Month

Nikola Jokic (West) and Joel Embiid (East) have won the Player of the Month award.

Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid have been named the Kia NBA Players of the Month for games played in December and January.

Jokic averaged 26.8 points, 11.8 rebounds and 8.6 assists through 20 games, serving as the catalyst to Denver’s No. 4 ranked offense.

Embiid, meanwhile, registered 28.3 points and 11.1 rebounds in 16 games played, guiding the 76ers to a 14-2 record in those contests.

The last time two centers won NBA Players of the Month was in November of 2006, when Dwight Howard and Yao Ming earned the honors, per StatMuse.
