NBA Salary Cap set at $109.14 million for 2019-20

NEW YORK — The National Basketball Association announced Saturday that the Salary Cap has been set at $109.14 million for the 2019-20 season. The tax level for the 2019-20 season is $132.627 million.

The Salary Cap and tax level will be implemented on Monday, July 1 at 12:01 a.m. ET. The league announced in May that teams could start negotiating with free agents at 6:00 p.m. ET on June 30 – six hours before the league’s “moratorium period” begins. The moratorium period will conclude at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 6.

For the 2019-20 season, the minimum team salary is set at $98.226 million, which is 90 percent of the Salary Cap.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement stipulates three different mid-level exceptions based on a team’s salary level. For the 2019-20 season, these are: $9.258 million for non-taxpayer mid-level, $5.718 million for taxpayer mid-level, and $4.767 million for a team with salary cap room.
