We begin with two teams on opposite ends of streaks – the Raptors enter Week 17 tied with Boston for the longest win streak in the Eastern Conference with five consecutive wins, while the Hornets have dropped four in a row, which is tied for the longest losing streak in the conference with Detroit. The Raptors won the first meeting 125-113 on Jan. 25 behind a combined 80 points from Gary Trent Jr (32), Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby (24 each).
Golden State at Oklahoma City, 8:00 p.m. ET
Speaking of win streaks, the Warriors have the longest active win streak in the league with eight straight wins as they open Week 17 in OKC – a team they have beat five straight times. OKC’s last win over the Warriors came on Oct. 27, 2019.
Tuesday, February 8
Phoenix at Philadelphia, 7:00 p.m. ET
The Suns not only have the best overall record in the NBA (42-10), they are also the best road team in the league (20-5). They will get a test on Tuesday in Philadelphia as they have to content with Joel Embiid, who has scored at least 25 points in 20 consecutive games. If Embiid can reach 25 again on Tuesday, he would join Kevin Durant (41, 29), James Harden (40), Michael Jordan (40, 40, 21), Allen Iverson (27), LeBron James (21) and Bradley Beal (21) as the only players since 1983 with 21 straight 25+ point games.
LA Clippers at Memphis, 8:00 p.m. ET
Ja Morant and the Grizzlies have reached must-watch status as arguably the most entertaining team in the league on a night in, night out basis. This is the first of three Memphis games on League Pass this week – as they look to complete the season sweep of the Clippers.
Wednesday, February 9
Los Angeles Lakers at Portland, 10:00 p.m. ET
The Lakers open Week 17 in ninth place in the Western Conference, but have both Anthony Davis and LeBron James back in the lineup. Davis returned on Jan. 25 and has averaged 25.7 points, 11.3 rebound and 3.0 blocks in his first six games back. LeBron returned on Saturday and posted a triple-double in the Lakers’ OT win over the Knicks. With 28 games remaining on the schedule, the Lakers have time to climb the standings and get themselves out of the Play-In field. The first of those 28 games is in Portland against a Blazers team that has dropped five straight.
Thursday, February 10
LA Clippers at Dallas, 8:30 p.m. ET
Here are Luka Doncic’s numbers over the past five games: 31.0 ppg, 11.8 apg and 9.4 rpg, with three triple-doubles. He’ll look to keep up this hot streak when the Mavs host the Clippers on Thursday in the third meeting of these recent playoff foes (LA has knocked out the Mavs in the first round each of the past two years).
Friday, February 11
Cleveland at Indiana, 7:00 p.m. ET
Indiana and Cleveland agreed on a trade that sent Caris LeVert from the Pacers to the Cavaliers just hours before the two teams tipped off against one another in Cleveland on Sunday. With LeVert out, the Pacers fell to the Cavs 98-95. Now, five days later, the teams will meet again, this time with LeVert suiting up for the Cavs after the trade was made official on Monday morning.
Saturday, February 12
Cleveland at Philadelphia, 7:30 p.m. ET
If the playoffs began today, the No. 4 Cavaliers (33-21) would meet the No. 5 Sixers (32-21) in the first round as the two are currently separated by just half a game. This is the first of four regular-season meetings between the teams.
Brooklyn at Miami, 8:00 p.m. ET
The Miami Heat open Week 17 sitting atop the Eastern Conference at 34-20, while the Brooklyn Nets (the team predicted to win the East) currently rank seventh in the conference as they have lost eight consecutive games. This is the first meeting between the Heat and Nets since the opening week of the season, when Miami topped Brooklyn 106-93. That game featured Kevin Durant (who is currently out with a knee injury), but not Kyrie Irving (who is available for road games).
Sunday, February 13
Minnesota at Indiana, 3:00 p.m. ET
Get your hoops in before the Super Bowl kicks off when the Pacers host the Timberwolves on Sunday afternoon. The Wolves enter Week 17 riding a four-game win streak as they look to climb out of the Play-In field (currently No. 7) and into the top six for a guaranteed playoff spot – it would be their first trip since 2018 and only the second since 2004.
