LAS VEGAS — The Boston Celtics defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 89-84, at Cox Pavilion in the NBA 2K25 Summer League on Wednesday.

The Celtics and Hornets played a tight, back-and-forth contest. The Hornets showed signs of life and grabbed the lead in the second quarter after an opening quarter that finished 19-19, and Charlotte held a six-point lead at halftime. The Celtics won the third quarter by a 23-21 score, and they carried the momentum into the fourth quarter, outscoring Charlotte 33-24 and ultimately winning the game.

Jahmi’us Ramsey and Anton Watson led the way for the Celtics with 15 points each. Watson also grabbed five rebounds, while Ramsey added five assists. Baylor Scheierman finished with 12 points and six boards. Killian Tillie posted 11 points.

Zavier Simpson led the way for the Hornets with a game-high 19 points, and he added six assists. Nick Smith Jr. had 12 points, six rebounds and four assists. Matt Morgan impressed off the bench with a 15-point, four-rebound stat line.
