Game Recap: Knicks 101, Bulls 69
Quentin Grimes scored a game-high 24 points to lead the New York Knicks to a 101-69 victory over the Chicago Bulls in the NBA 2K23 Summer League on Sunday at Cox Pavilion.
The Knicks jumped out to a stellar start with a 27-11 lead after one quarter. They kept the pressure on in the second and outscored the Bulls 32-13 to make it a 35-point game by halftime. The Bulls brought a better effort in the third, but they could only shave the deficit to 29 points heading into the final frame. Ultimately, the Knicks cruised through the fourth to complete the 32-point blowout.
The Knicks had three players score in double digits in addition to Grimes, including Miles McBride, who totaled 14 points, three rebounds, six assists and three steals. DaQuan Jeffries added 13 points, six rebounds and a block, while Jericho Sims logged 11 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
Carlik Jones and Dalen Terry tallied 13 points each to lead the Bulls, while Henri Dell chipped in 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals. The Bulls shot just 37.1% from the field and missed nine of their 26 free-throw attempts.
The Bulls will look to bounce back Tuesday when they take on the Raptors (5 ET, NBA TV). The Knicks are back in action Monday against the Trail Blazers (11 ET, ESPN2).
