On Feb. 21, a tribute will be held commemorating some of his finest moments. The following day, Feb. 22, his jersey will be raised to the rafters during the Heat’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The documentary showcasing his life, both on and off the court, will be screened at the team’s arena on Feb. 23.

Wade is set to be the fifth ex-Heat player to have his jersey retired by the team, following Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway, Shaquille O’Neal, and Chris Bosh. The Heat have also previously declared that LeBron James’ Heat jersey will eventually be retired.

Wade competed in the NBA for 16 seasons, primarily with Miami. He was instrumental in the Heat’s NBA championship wins in 2006, 2012, and 2013 and holds the record for the highest scorer in the team’s history.
