The 6’11” forward/center, Garnett, who’s recognized as one of the top two-way players in NBA history, joined the Celtics in a trade just before the 2007-08 season. In his inaugural season, he was instrumental in leading Boston to secure their 17th World Championship, the most in NBA history, and was awarded All-NBA First Team and NBA Defensive Player of the Year. During his six seasons with the Celtics, Garnett made the All-Star team five times and was selected for the NBA All-Defensive Teams four times. He played 396 games with the Celtics, averaging 15.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.0 blocks in 30.9 minutes per game.

Joining his teammate Paul Pierce, whose number was retired in 2017-18, Garnett now also finds his place in the Garden rafters. He becomes the 24th member of the Celtics organization to be bestowed with this honor.
