The 25-year-old guard, who averaged 13.7 points and 1.7 assists over 71 games with Toronto last season, was the leading scorer still available on the free-agent market. He has career averages of 14.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists over six NBA seasons.
Trent Jr. started his career with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he played for two-plus seasons after being selected with the 37th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. He was traded to the Raptors during the 2020-21 season.
In Milwaukee, he will reunite with former Blazers teammate Damian Lillard and look to provide a scoring punch to the Bucks’ backcourt. He should help make up for the production lost by the departure of Malik Beasley to Detroit.
