The Celtics entered the 2024 NBA Draft with the No. 30 and No. 54 overall picks.

No. 30 pick: Baylor Scheierman

Scheierman played five years at the college level for two different programs. He spent his first three years with South Dakota State in the Summit League before transferring to Creighton to compete in one of the country’s toughest conferences in the Big East. Scheierman started in each of his appearances in the last three seasons, and he had his best season in 2023-24, averaging a career-high 18.5 points while adding 9.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists across a career-high 36.8 minutes per contest. He was named to the 2023-24 All-Big East First Team.

Scheierman will be a wing at the next level, though it remains to be seen whether he’ll be more utilized as a shooting guard or a small forward. He’s equally adept at playing both positions, though he possesses above-average size if deployed in the backcourt. He proved to be a versatile, do-it-all kind of player during his last two years in college. While being a jack-of-all-trades type of player should boost his draft stock, he also turned heads due to his offensive arsenal, particularly his deep shooting range and his efficiency from beyond the arc. — RotoWire.
