FIBA World Cup Team Profile: Lebanon

Lebanon is returning to the FIBA World Cup for the first time since 2010 after an impressive showing in the Asia Qualifiers. Coach Jad El Hajj led the team to seven wins in a row, becoming the first Asian team to qualify for the 2023 World Cup. They enter into the loaded Group H where they will be tested early on in group play.

What to Watch

Lebanon saw strong performances from veteran leader Wael Arakji as well as their young core in the qualifying round. Additionally, Lebanon is expected to add former NBA player Omari Spellman to their World Cup roster, which should give them a boost in the competition.
