SALT LAKE CITY — Dillon Jones poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 98-75 win over the Utah Jazz in the Salt Lake City Summer League on Tuesday at Delta Center.
The Thunder rushed out to an impressive 29-16 lead through one quarter. The Jazz picked up their play in the second, but the Thunder did not let up and pushed it to an 18-point game by halftime. The scoring slowed down a notch in the third, while the Thunder maintained control and carried a 23-point cushion into the final frame. The Jazz kept up the fight in the fourth, but it was not enough, as the Thunder cruised to the 23-point victory.
Jones shot a blistering 7-for-8 from the field and added seven rebounds, four assists and a steal to his game-high scoring effort to lead the Thunder. Ousmane Dieng followed up with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block, while Kyle Kelly logged seven points, eight rebounds and a block.
Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Brice Sensabaugh tallied 18 points each to lead the way for the Jazz. Jason Preston followed up with 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal, while Kyle Filipowski chipped in four points, five rebounds and two assists.
Both teams will conclude Salt Lake City Summer League play Wednesday, with the Thunder taking on the Grizzlies and the Jazz taking on the 76ers.
