Hathaway fined maximum for elbowing in Flyers game
Forward penalized $5,000 for actions against Eriksson Ek of Wild

NEW YORK — Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for elbowing Minnesota Wild forward Joel Eriksson Ek during NHL Game No. 123 in Philadelphia on Saturday, Oct. 26, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 1:38 of the second period. Hathaway was assessed a minor penalty for roughing.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
