Miami mother honored by team during game

MIN@FLA: Panthers Hockey Fights Cancer night

The Florida Panthers hosted a special introduction at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday.

The Panthers helped a cancer survivor meet her stem cell donor in a heartwarming moment during the team’s game against the Minnesota Wild.

So glad we could host this wonderful donor/recipient @GiftofLife meeting between Carole and her donor, Erik, thanks to @BaptistHealthSF! pic.twitter.com/clDiDFKZZY

Carole, a Miami mother who was diagnosed with leukemia after defeating breast cancer, received a blood stem cell donation from a donor through the Gift of Life Marrow Registry.

During first period intermission, Carole was introduced to her donor, Erik, who flew in from Washington to meet her. The two hugged and were emotional after finally meeting one another.
