Nikola Jokic passes Larry Bird on career list with 60th triple-double

Only seven players have amassed more career triple-doubles than Denver’s Nikola Jokic.

Reigning Kia MVP Nikola Jokic posted the 60th triple-double of his career on Monday, surpassing Boston Celtics Hall of Famer Larry Bird for sole possession of eighth place in NBA history.

Jokic finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 15 assists in Denver’s 109-97 loss to Chicago for No. 60.

He currently stands two triple-doubles behind No. 7 James Harden, who surpassed Bird last month and has since added two more for a career total of 62.

Arguably the greatest passing center in NBA history, Jokic’s latest triple-double came in his 471st game. Bird’s 59 triple-doubles came in 897 games from 1979-92.

Congrats to Nikola Jokic of the @nuggets for moving up to 8th on the all-time TRIPLE-DOUBLES list! #NBA75 pic.twitter.com/UDqElBOphs
