2024 NFL Season, Week 1: Notable injuries, news from Sunday's games

Here are the injuries and news we’re monitoring around the league on this Week 1 Sunday:

  • Arizona Cardinals offensive tackle Jonah Williams (knee) was ruled out against the Bills.
  • Buffalo Bills cornerback Taron Johnson (forearm) was ruled out against the Cardinals. Running back Ty Johnson (knee) did not return.
  • Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is feared to have suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
  • Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson, who left Sunday’s game with a knee injury, appears to have avoided a torn ACL, Rapoport reported. Ferguson’s X-rays came back negative on Sunday, and he will undergo an MRI exam on Monday, per Rapoport.
  • Houston Texans cornerback Jeff Okudah (hip) was ruled out against the Colts.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Tyson Campbell (hamstring) did not return against the Dolphins.
  • Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Tyree Wilson (knee) was ruled out against the Chargers. Defensive back Jack Jones and Chargers wide receiver Josh Palmer were ejected for fighting in Sunday’s game.
  • Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Josh Palmer and Raiders defensive back Jack Jones were ejected for fighting in Sunday’s game.
  • Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) and guard Steve Avila (knee) were each ruled out in the second half of Sunday night’s game against the Lions. Offensive lineman Joe Noteboom (knee) also did not return.
  • Miami Dolphins linebacker David Long (hand) did not return against the Jaguars.
  • Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison, who injured his ankle against the Giants, will undergo more tests Monday, but he is not believed to have suffered a major injury, Rapoport reported.
  • New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) did not return against the Panthers.
  • New York Giants wide receiver Gunner Olszewski suffered a groin injury in warmups and was ruled out against the Vikings.
  • Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle George Fant (knee) was ruled out against the Broncos. Running back Kenneth Walker III left late in the fourth quarter with abdominal pain, but told reporters he was good after the game.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerbacks Zyon McCollum (concussion) and Josh Hayes (ankle) were ruled out against the Commanders. Cornerback Bryce Hall suffered a dislocated ankle and fractured fibula in Sunday’s win, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported.
