The Arizona Cardinals are coming off two straight losses as they travel North to face their NFC West rival, the San Francisco 49ers in a showdown on Sunday afternoon. Kyler Murray and company will certainly want to add a divisional win to their record, but can they pull off this upset on the road against the Super Bowl runner ups?
After two weeks, the Cardinals took it to the Bills, putting up 28 points and covering the spread, and absolutely beat down the Los Angeles Rams, winning 42-10 at home. Arizona was looking like a surprise team in some eyes (mine). But then they dropped two straight. To the Lions and the Commanders, both in the desert, only putting up 23 points combined in those two losses. They held Detroit scoreless in the 2nd half of their matchup, but still couldn’t find a way to win.
The 49ers are dealing with some major injuries as CMC has yet to see the field. San Francisco is 2-2 on the season, losing two games on the road, but handling business at home. Can they do that again against a division foe? Or will Arizona leave Levi’s Stadium after an incredible upset?

Can Kyler Pull Off Road Upset in San Fran?
Kyler Murray and the Cardinals take on the San Francisco 49ers on the road on Sunday
After looking very electric, the Cardinals offense has come to a crashing halt. They’ve scored just 3 total TDs in the last two weeks after having 10 in the first two matchups. And now they face a 49ers defense that is wildly regarded as one of the best units in the NFL. They are allowing less than 21 points per game and under 300 yards as well, both ranking in the Top 10 of the league.
But this could be a slight look ahead spot for the home town team.
The 49ers have a very short week, and while they don’t travel far, they go to Seattle to take on the NFC West leading Seahawks on Thursday Night Football. This may cause them to take their foot off the gas a bit early, and be content with an safe win. Of course, San Francisco will try to win this game, but with back to back divisional matchups, my focus would be on the short week, road opponent who is currently a game ahead in the division.
I think the Cardinals offense woes the past two weeks are fixable, and I see them producing some points against a banged up 49ers defense. In this divisional game, I certainly lean with the underdog, especially with the 49ers going to face the division leading Seahawks on a short week. I see Kyle Shanahan getting a bit ahead of himself and failing to focus on the task at hand. The Cardinals have fully embraced the role as underdog, and I see them being able to keep this within a touchdown.

Best Bet: Cardinals +7 (-105) BetOnline
Do your line shopping as you can find the hook out there, but we are backing Arizona to catch San Francisco sleeping. The 49ers are a bit beat up and will be worried about their game on Thursday Night on the road against the Seahawks. They aren’t worried about the 1-3 Cardinals coming to town. This is an easy win for the 49ers, they could set it on cruise control and get a victory.
So they think.
The Cardinals are going to come into Levi’s Stadium on Sunday and put up a fight. Do I think they win? Eh, probably not. But I think they put up more points than they have the past couple of weeks. I think Jonathan Gannon can scheme up something to disrupt Purdy and make his offense struggle, thus making it a closer ball game. If you asked me about the total, I guess I would lean with the over, but looking at it again, I really have no side there.
What I do know is this.
It’ll be late in the 4th quarter, Niners up by 13. Arizona will have the ball with 3 minutes to go. Kyler Murray and company will carve up a soft San Francisco Defense that already has the win they want wrapped up, scoring a touchdown as time expires to cover the backdoor and cash our +7. I just spoke it into existence, bet it with me and let’s ride this Sunday.
