As the combat sports universe inches closer to the biggest Professional Fighters League event of 2024, the organization has dropped a final trailer to raise awareness of its pay-per-view event on Oct. 19.
The headliner of “Battle of the Giants” is highlighted, with no words needed as the impact of former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight king Francis Ngannou and PFL heavyweight champ Renan Ferreira draws the attention of spectators and helicopters as they tear through the streets leading towards their clash in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
It will be a historic night for the PFL, with Ngannou’s promotional debut and a stacked main card. The co-main event will feature mixed martial arts’ only grand slam champion in Cris Cyborg, who will be back in action for the first time since Bellator 300. Her opponent is reigning champion Larissa Pacheco, who is the only woman to carry championships in two PFL weight classes.
There will be a third title fight for this massive event, as Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen will face Fabian Edwards in a rematch from their 2023 scrap. In their first meeting, Eblen picked up a third-round TKO victory, but Edwards bounced back with a victory over Aaron Jeffery in a No. 1 contender match, earning his second chance at the strap.
Also on the card will be a featured fight between former champion A.J. McKee and recent free-agent signee Paul Hughes.
PFL’s “Battle Of The Giants” pay-per-view event takes place on Oct. 19 and will be live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will be available in the United States on ESPN+ PPV and worldwide on DAZN PPV.
