SACRAMENTO — Stephon Castle tallied a game-high 18 points to lead the San Antonio Spurs to an 89-67 win over Team China in the California Classic Summer League on Tuesday at Golden 1 Center.

The Spurs jumped out to a strong start and held a 29-20 lead after one quarter. They stayed in control through most of the second, but China made a push to cut it back to a three-point game by halftime. The Spurs turned up the defense in the third quarter and held China to just seven points, while San Antonio rallied to a 13-point advantage heading into the final frame. The Spurs kept their focus in the fourth and had no trouble closing out the 22-point victory.

Castle added six rebounds, five assists and three steals to his game-high scoring effort for the Spurs. Harrison Ingram followed up with 16 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals. Jamaree Bouyea added 14 points and five assists while limiting himself to just one turnover in 25 minutes of action.

Liao Sanning led China with 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 26 minutes. Jiao Boqiao and He Xining followed up with 11 points each, while Yang Hansen logged six points and eight rebounds.

The Spurs will resume Summer League play in Las Vegas on Saturday, taking on the Trail Blazers.
