LAS VEGAS – The Detroit Pistons defeated the Houston Rockets, 87-73, in the NBA 2K25 Summer League at Thomas & Mack Center on Monday.

There were four ties and eight lead changes in this game, with neither team leading by more than 10 points until the final moments. Detroit took command by outscoring Houston in the fourth quarter, 24-9. The Pistons shot 42.9 percent from the field while holding the Rockets to 37.7 percent shooting. Detroit also out-assisted Houston, 21-14, while out-rebounding them, 55-48.

The Pistons (1-1) were led by Daniss Jenkins, providing 26 points, three rebounds and four assists. Bobi Klintman collected 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Marcus Sasser had 13 points, three rebounds, eight assists and two steals, while Javante McCoy led the bench with seven points, seven rebounds and four steals.

The Rockets (2-1) were led by AJ Griffin, generating 18 points and five rebounds. Reed Sheppard tallied 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals. Nate Williams totaled 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Orlando Robinson led the bench with 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

On deck for Detroit is a matchup with the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday. As for Houston, they face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday for their next outing.
