Rookie first-round pick Tristan da Silva’s team-high scoring total and a sharp team shooting performance vaulted the Orlando Magic to a comeback 91-86 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in an NBA 2K25 Summer League battle at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on Sunday evening.

The two teams emerged from the first quarter deadlocked in a 21-21 tie, but the Pelicans appeared to be on the way to pulling away after outscoring the Magic by a 24-14 margin in the second period. However, Orlando would chip three points from its deficit in the third and then craft a 31-19 advantage over the final 10 minutes for the hard-fought win. New Orleans committed 24 turnovers to the Magic’s 19, and the latter managed to offset their mistakes with blistering 50.7% shooting, including 41.4% from behind the arc.

Da Silva led the Magic with 23 points, supplementing them with four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Last year’s 11th overall pick Jett Howard furnished 14 points and three assists. Jay Huff delivered 13 points, six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. Xavier Moon registered 10 points and three rebounds.

The Pelicans were led by 2023 first-round pick Jordan Hawkins, who finished with 24 points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal. Jordan Ford furnished 13 points, three assists and two rebounds. Antonio Reeves compiled 12 points, two boards and two steals. Karlo Matkovic tallied 10 points, five assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block.

The Magic next take the floor Wednesday evening against the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Pelicans face off with the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night.
