Islanders Attempt Happy Gilmore Swing at Golf Outing

The Islanders took a running start into a few tee shots at the team's golf outing

The New York Islanders payed homage to Happy Gilmore on Monday afternoon, taking a swing at Adam Sandler’s famous running golf swing.

The 1996 comedy holds a special place for hockey and golf fans, so it was only fitting for pro hockey players to give it a try. Thankfully no gators were on set at Glen Oaks Club – and neither was Shooter McGavin.
