Hockey is back, baby! We’re less than one week away from the start of training camp but meaningful games begin today. With the 2024 Rookie Faceoff kicking off at our very own Toyota Sports Performance Center, future Kings will be taking the ice tonight. Among the 30 players listed on the Kings Rookie Faceoff roster, 11 players were drafted by the Kings and two were acquired via trade.

Kings Notes:

• The Kings roster is highlighted by a pair of former first-round picks, both of whom are expected to suit up in tonight’s game. Beginning with the eighth-overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, Brandt Clarke returns to the Rookie Faceoff with excitement. Clarke, 21, had 25 games of NHL experience heading into the upcoming season and has notched eight points (2-6=8) in his time with the Kings. Hoping to secure a permanent role in the Kings’ top-6 on the blueline this season, Clarke’s first opportunity to showcase his offseason improvements will begin tonight!

• Also expected to play tonight will be the Kings latest first-round draft pick, Liam Greentree. Greentree, who the Kings selected at 26th overall in June, will see his first competition against another team’s prospects. The 18-year-old, 6–3, 211-pound forward showed off his size, hockey IQ and skill during the summer’s development camp and now faces a new test in a full game setting.
