Elsewhere on the east coast, we’ve got the Red Sox hosting the Athletics. Rafael Devers has been red hot all summer and with Joey Estes on the mound, the Athletics could be in for a long night.

This isn’t a market I usually tap into but I really love this spot for Schwarber to get walked tonight. The Phillies are hosting the Dodgers tonight, kicking off a three game series between the top two teams in the National League.
Los Angeles is rolling out second year starter, Bobby Miller (6.12 ERA) to face off with Philadelphia’s Zack Wheeler (2.74 ERA).
Miller’s been going through a bit of sophomore slump this year; he’s seen his ERA balloon to almost double last year’s and he’s got just one win through six starts.
Not only has Miller been giving up a lot of runs, but he’s had his share of control issues this year. He’s walked 15 batters through six starts, and he’s walked 3 or more batters in 4 of his 6 starts.
On the road it gets even worse for Miller, he’s got a 9.64 ERA and he’s averaging just under 3 walks per game.
Schwarber currently sits third in the entire MLB in walks drawn, posting a 0.373 OBP (14th) with 59 walks. He’s the only player in the top 15 of OBP with a batting average lower than 0.268.
We know Schwarby swings for the fences, but this is also a guy pitchers hate pitching to. With Miller’s struggles against lefties this season, I’m loving this matchup for Schwarby.

I don’t think there’s anyone in baseball hotter than Rafael Devers. The Dominican native is batting 0.293 with 21 home runs and 55 RBI this season.
He’s been the Red Sox best player, and he’s the biggest reason why they’re now in the hunt for the Wild Card. Boston’s won six of their last seven games and Devers has been phenomenal.
Devers’ posted a 0.303 batting average with 4 home runs and 12 RBI during this span and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
He’s batting 0.316 since the beginning of June, he’s recorded 11 home runs, 29 RBI and 27 runs scored; the Red Sox are 20-11 in that same time frame.
His matchup, Joey Estes has been bad, to say the least. He’s got a 7.00 road ERA and he’s allowing left handed hitters to bat 0.264 with a 0.527 SLG.
Rafael’s been crushing righties this year, posting a 0.317 batting average and 0.688 SLG (18 HR). He’s also been great at home with 9 of his 21 home runs coming at Fenway Park, despite 18 fewer at-bats.
